Muelle Osmeña was a Lighthouse

The place booms with excitement as people are ready to disembark while others ready to embark.

As the ferrys docks here in Muelle Osmena from pier 1 Cebu City travel time is just 30 or 40 minutes and vice versa. The trip for me is very convenient if one travels from Cebu city to visit the shrine of Birhen sa Regla her in Opon. Because once you disembark from the ferry and look up the church is just a few steps away.

But I am disappointed.. why? Because the place is not maintained at all.

The lighthouse and its surrounding area is void of maintenance but whoever runs this place greatly profits from it. The lighthouse which stood proudly in its heyday , which I considered a tourist attraction and a status symbol is now but a pile of rock or much worse it won't even exist in the next 3 years.

Upon going down from the shrine I noticed that the path has two sides . On the right side is a road for people who have transportation who want to drop off their love ones nearer the entrance or for people with a lot of baggages with them. The other side are stairs for those who are going on foot. It was fine with me until I noticed that there are a lot holes on the road and water flowing to the road from the canal. Thus people going on foot has to hop for dry spots on the road or risks being run over by vehicles. Which is not safe for elderly people much more for people with disability.

But as you wait for your ferry to depart from Muelle Osmena to pier 1 Cebu City you can help but notice that the view is priceless.

I wish that the management or thelocal goverment would upgrade and make it a point to maintain the lighthouse and its surrounding area.
